His head is filled with the hum of people all around, but it's fuzzy, tiredness keeping anything concrete just out of his reach. He listens to a soft-spoken conversation, voices of strangers, and the only fragments that register are, “narrow save” and “good chance he’ll walk again.” Nearby, a machine beeps in regular intervals.
